Older generation

A phone call in August brought dad to live with me permanently.  Not sure when Larry will get his butt out of his ass.  However, I'm getting on the band wagon and getting dads paperwork up to date.  We can't please all of our family.  Dad is in a safe environment and is doing quite well.   He has had his eye cataract surgery.   We are getting some senior services, such as meals on wheels.  I compromised and cooked liver yesterday.

After many years we had a fishing trip over to the deschutes River .

Yes we have a dog.  She is related to Melinda's peanut.   Dixie is her name.

Visiting me at Riverbend after my knee surgery.

my love for him is deep and I can't ever imagine abusing him.     We've discussed the burden  and bother words.    Not allowed at our house.    DRAMA is not allowed here.     We have had some wonderful dinners with the CoosBay kids and look forward to RUSTY and CLAYTONs visit at the end of December.

More quilts.

This  blog stuff is confusing and I'm sure I will get betters its posting At some time.
Sisters choice quilt.   Darlene, Melinda and Debbie and I are completing this quilt top.  Melinda did hers in black, red, pink and whites.

Another uFO complete.  I found these sweet 1930 petals at a yard sale.    Blocks are huge. 16"  but I love it on my bed.

This is Darlene's sister choice quilt.    She loves it and I'm trying my best to convert her to be a quiltville.com fan.

Another string quilt.   This one belongs to Melinda and I had the border fabric and it definitely all fell,in together.   Most of Melinda's fabrics she had donated to her.  We are learning about cheap fabrics.    Quiltville.com

Software and a learning curve

In January I took a job as a CSR for the Cover Oregon call center in Salem.   The computer program was one of the most challenging programs I have ever used.  So if you read about the difficulties in the papers about the  software and the organization in the paper,  they are pretty much true.     I was 4th to get laid off from the 15 individuals in my training group.    Getting paid through the staffing agency was a nightmare.

I did learn a lot about the affordable health care act.

And more

I have also worked lots more this winter and it is nice to get caught up financially.   After working with some individuals and their families and dealing with drama within.  I will be just working on,the weekends with two clients.   The next several months will be busy.    I also hope to do some volunteer work.

These are the cheater panels I found and made lap quilts for Sammy and Rowan.    I enjoyed our FaceTime last Saturday and got to watch as Sam opened the boxes.    Love the technology of watching them.   How I wish this was available when mom was still here.

And a few other projects

Mature bald eagle and last years baby.   I love seeing all of the different raptors here in the Williamette valley.

On a quilting note...

Where is time going?

It has been a while since I updated my blog.    So many things going on as usual.

The Pynch family lost out much LOVED aunt Bonnie.   I've stopped myself from picking up the phone and calling her on more than one occasion.    The memorial service was huge in Roseburg,  over 700 people attending.    God bless her family as they mourn this wonderful  wife, mother and grandmother.

I made a trip to see my dad.  We had lunch at his favorite place Captains Choice.
He is doing so good at 90 years old.  Yes, the wheels of his truck do go round and round.

It's a new year

I arrived home early Friday morning and my feet have not rested for a long period of time. I arrived to my weekend job on time and enjoyed working the morning.

Then i drove to Roseburg with Melinda and we visited Aunt Bonnie and uncle Jim.   Jake and Sarah were there.   We stopped on the way home and visited with Debbie at Starbucks.    Melinda bought dinner at papa Murphy's.  Bacon, Bacon,Bacon is a wonderful pizza.

Today I finally opens the door to my sewing room and now I have 11 blocks done done on the Celtic Soltace quilt.   I like it.
